Walls represent one of German label Kompakt's most interesting forays outside of the label's traditional techno heartland.
This London band combine members from the brilliant Allez-Allez and Banjo Or Freakout for an electronic indie-dance project that pulls out influences with startling effect. Taking in krautrock, disco, ambient electronica and even modern psych-pop, Walls the album and the band are an exciting and inventive blend of all of the above.
The record opens with the almost balearic placed 'Burnt Sienna' before finding pastures all the more tropical. The drums get fiercer and by the time vocals start the album is in full pop-dance-floor mode. Exciting throughout, deeply hypnotic.
